Process for Meat Donations
Process for providing a Charitable Receipt to the Donor:
Process for providing a Charitable Donation Receipt to the Donor:
1. The donor notifies the PCDCFC that they wish to make a donation of beef. The Coordinator will inform the donor of the following process and requirements.
2. The dollar amount per pound will be determined by the current value of regular ground beef at the Pincher Creek Coop as of the date of the donation.
3. All beef donations will be considered ‘regular ground beef’.
4. If the donor is not in agreement with the current valuation they may withdraw the donation.
5. The donor will indicate what percentage of the animal is being donated and the Coordinator will weigh the meat once it is received.
6. The donated meat must be slaughtered and processed in a licensed facility that meets provincial and federal regulations and requirements.
7. If requested by the donor, the PCDCFC will pay for the cost of processing for the portion of the animal that is being donated (by weight) at the current price at the butchering facility.
8. A charitable receipt will be issued to the donor for the value of the beef (as determined in point 2 listed above), less the cost of processing.
