Meet our Board of Directors and Staff

The Pincher Creek & District Community Food Centre is guided by a dedicated Board of Directors who are passionate about making a difference in our community. Representing a diverse range of skills and experiences, our board members provide leadership, strategic direction, and oversight to ensure we fulfill our mission of fighting hunger and supporting families in need.

Anne Gover

I am a founding member and currently serve as the Chairperson of the Pincher Creek & District Community Food Centre. My passion lies in ensuring that everyone in our community has access to nutritious food in a dignified way. Through collaboration with our dedicated board members, staff, and volunteers, I strive to support our mission of helping those in need.

Being involved in the Pincher Creek community has always been important to me. Over the years, I have volunteered with 4H, the Women’s Emergency Shelter, the Pincher Creek Chamber of Commerce, and other local organizations. Giving back and working alongside others to strengthen our community is something I truly value.

I first became involved with the Food Centre a little over two years ago and officially joined the Board of Directors in July 2024.

It all began when a friend, already involved with the Food Centre, asked my husband and me if we could help with recycling their cardboard. We happily agreed, and from there, I had the opportunity to meet the coordinator and other volunteers. Seeing how the Food Centre operates on the ground level was inspiring.

I quickly realized I wanted to do more. I volunteered to help prepare hampers once a week, which allowed me to contribute directly to supporting families in need. When I learned they were looking for new Board members, I decided to apply—and the rest is history!

Now, I’m involved in organizing special events such as the Food Drive, Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon, Holiday Train, The Santa Photo Shoot, and garage sales. I also serve on the Volunteer and Personnel Committees, working to support both our amazing volunteers and the community we serve.

Why did I choose to get involved? Because I can’t imagine a more meaningful way to make a difference. My work with the Food Centre fulfills a deep desire to help make our community a better place for everyone.

I have been proud to serve as a Board Member of the Pincher Creek & District Community Food Centre since 2022, taking on the role of Treasurer. My previous experience with McMan, where I was involved in managing the Food Bank, gave me valuable insight into the operations and the people we serve.

The Food Centre plays a vital role in our community, providing essential support to those in need. Being part of this organization allows me to contribute to a cause that truly makes a difference in the lives of so many.

My involvement with the Pincher Creek & District Community Food Centre began before its official formation, during the time when the Town of Pincher Creek operated an emergency food bank. Recognizing the growing need, we formed a community group dedicated to supporting those in need of food, and I’ve been committed to the cause ever since.

My goal has always been to ensure the food hamper program continues to operate, providing vital support to individuals and families in our community. The generosity of schools, church groups, community events, and individuals who donate food or money is what makes this program possible.

As a board member, I take great pride and satisfaction in knowing that our work helps ensure that residents of Pincher Creek and the surrounding area have access to food during challenging times. Together, we’re making a meaningful difference in our community.

I joined the Board of the Pincher Creek & District Community Food Centre in June 2024, just a few months after relocating to the area in January. Eager to engage with my new community, I was immediately drawn to the Food Centre’s core values and its inspiring dedication to creating a positive impact.

The team has been incredibly welcoming and supportive, making it easy to feel at home in this important work. I’m excited to contribute my skills and efforts to further the Food Centre’s mission and to help make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in our community.

I have called this area home my entire life, and my connection to the community runs deep. My involvement with the Pincher Creek & District Community Food Centre began in the fall of 2021 when my daughter, who has special needs, started making weekly visits as part of her educational programming. Seeing the impact of the Food Centre firsthand, I felt compelled to do more. In March 2022, I joined the Board to help address the growing need in our community.

Being part of this incredible team has been both rewarding and inspiring. I’m proud of the work we’ve accomplished together and the positive impact we continue to make for individuals and families in need.

In January 2022, a member of the Food Centre Board reached out to see if I would be interested in joining the organization. I attended a monthly board meeting to observe how they operated, and I was immediately struck by the dedication and cohesion of the team. Each board member was knowledgeable about the organization, its purpose in the community, and their responsibilities.

What stood out to me most was the unwavering commitment to serving those in need—without question or judgment. It was clear that the Food Centre existed simply because the need was there, and that was enough. The board members and staff I met were practical, dedicated, and passionate about their work, making it an easy decision to get involved.

Feeling confident in the mission, the people, and the impact of the Food Centre, I officially joined the Board shortly after. Since then, my time here has been incredibly rewarding, providing me with valuable learning experiences and a deeper understanding of our community.

I have been a proud Board Member of the Pincher Creek & District Community Food Centre since its inception in 2020. When COVID-19 disrupted so many aspects of daily life, financial and food insecurity became a reality for many families. Today, with the rising cost of living, the struggle to make ends meet continues for countless people in our community.

I firmly believe in the importance of the Food Hamper program as a safety net for families facing these challenges. It provides not only food but also hope and stability during difficult times. I’m honoured to be part of a community that rallies together to support initiatives that reduce hunger and ensure access to nutritious food for those in need.

My journey with the Pincher Creek & District Community Food Centre began in 2020 when I started volunteering, driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact in my community. In the summer of 2022, I was honoured to step into the role of Food Centre Coordinator, where I have the privilege of supporting those in need while also connecting with the generous donors who make our work possible.

Every day, I am inspired by the kindness and resilience of our community. Whether it’s ensuring families have access to nutritious food or working alongside dedicated volunteers and donors, I am grateful to play a part in making a difference.
